Wishful Wednesday 32

Browsing saat laper, malah bikin salah satu buku masuk jadi wishlist. Pas lagi liat-liat opentrolley, nyari bukunya Jerry Spinelli yang lain (ini gara-gara suka baca Milkweed, meskipun baru awal-awal)… nah tiba-tiba menemukan salah satu bukunya dengan cover yang lucu… jadi tiba-tiba pengen indomie telor (plus cabe rawit…)

Eggs is a quirky and moving novel about two very complicated, damaged children. David has recently lost his mother to a freak accident, his salesman father is constantly on the road, and he is letting his anger out on his grandmother. Primrose lives with her unstable, childlike, fortuneteller mother, and the only evidence of the father she never knew is a framed picture. Despite their age difference (David is 9, Primrose is 13), they forge a tight yet tumultuous friendship, eventually helping each other deal with what is missing in their lives.

Jerry Spinelli received the Newbery Medal for Maniac Magee and a Newbery Honor for Wringer. His other books include Smiles to Go, Loser, Space Station Seventh Grade, Who Put That Hair in My Toothbrush?, Dump Days, and Stargirl. His novels are recognized for their humor and poignancy, and his characters and situations are often drawn from his real-life experience as a father of six children. Jerry lives with his wife, Eileen, also a writer, in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
